Bayer
Classic-Mac threshold dither
Bayer is the classic-Mac dither preset: a 4×4 ordered threshold matrix that converts continuous brightness into binary on/off pixels with a distinctive geometric grid pattern. Designed for retro-tech aesthetics, Bayer reads instantly as "early Macintosh," "early console game," or "1980s-90s software UI." The pattern is fundamentally different from Halftone's circular dots. Bayer's grid is square and visibly axis-aligned, which gives it the "crunchy" digital character that designers reach for when they want a specifically retro-computing visual. cellSize controls the matrix tile pitch (4-16 pixels), and intensity blends from passthrough toward pure binary.
